The Big Three C's

If you choose to produce content for your audience, the backbone of your game plan should be predicated on what I call the Big Three C's: Context, Content, and Consistency.
1. Context
If you approach with content first you're leaving money on the table. Context first, then content. Here's what I mean - When you go to a professional environment you act, behave, and interact differently vs when you go to a ball game or your favorite concert. You instinctually put on a different hat.
You must apply the same principals when you go on different social media platforms. The psychology is different from one to another. The psychology in LinkedIn is different from Instagram or Snap chat.
How you present yourself and what you put out must be native to the platform and that's what I mean by context. I do not go on LinkedIn to post animated gifs as I would in Tubmlr. I do not go on Instagram and post slide-share presentations nor articles (generaly) as I would LinkedIn.
What you put out must be native if you want to impact whoever your trying to reach on the platform. Spend an enormous amount of time studying and testing different types of content on all the platforms and figure it out.
2. Content
So context - making sure your content is native to the platform and fits the psychology of your end user.
No you must produce the content when you have decided the right mediums of context. What's important to keep in mind about content is that you can't just put anything out there if you want to build band equity.
You must put content that GIVES VALE without any expectations in return in the short run. This is huge leverage if you have the patience.
The E's that guide my content are: Educational, Engaging, or entertainment. These are pretty self explanatory but the key is that these types of content provides value and a sense of escapism.
People do not go on these platforms to see your ads. They go on these platforms for escapism, more or less. Give it to them! And only then will you have he leverage to ask for your sale or business with your end user.
3. Consistency
Consistency - the principal to tie it all together. You can have context, and content but with consistency over time you will lose. It doesn't matter how great you are at the first two, if you are not consistently in the back of your user's head in a positive way then your brand does not exist.
You must produce value giving content on a consistent basis to build trust and relationships with who you're trying to sell to. Consistency + engagement is what builds the actual relationships between business and their consumers. Get on their radars or they will forget about you!
Please dig deeper on all three concepts. Remeber you need all of them to suceed with your content strategy.
