My Intuition On Content Types To Start Bossing Up On

Quick Info - 2 min

There's an enormous amount of content being distributed on social media or any anywhere else on the web.

Three content types that I think will outweigh the rest in 2017 - 18 - 19 is evergreen content, documentation, and live content.

Evergreen

Evergreen is the content that has no time frame for relevancy such as news articles or events, latest trends, or stats. They can come in the form of How To's, Top Lists, Reviews etc.

To me the best kinds of ever green content contains what I call universal principles. These principles are special because they can be applied to every situation. They are not tricks nor tactics, not even strategy but rather a constant unwavering concept that has stood the test of time over and over again.

Documentation

(Something I need to do more of)

I love the idea documenting the process and journey of becoming someone you want to be or building whatever you want to create no matter what level you are at.

This is value for people who are also on the same path particularly on the same level as well. Even though the content is subjective, it gives another POV of the process. I enjoy getting an insight on other entrepreneurs out there who document their processes. Creating a public diary can be the gateway to bonding and connection with your audience because now your content is human and not edited.

Live Content

With the rise of what I call instant video - Facebook live, Instagram stories and video, Snapchat, Periscope, and Meerkat - its my best bet to start being a first mover in this space.

I feel there's a huge cultural shift to the un-edited and raw style of content. People like to see and witness a first hand event and even more so when there's live interaction.

To me its cool to hop on periscope or Facebook live and watch a live event taking and interact with the host. It adds a human element effect and creates a personal atmosphere.

And not to mention, by the data, Facebook live is growing exponentially climaxing at 8 billion video views per day on Facebook. Latest figures show that people spend 3x longer watching live video compared to a video that's pre-recorded.

My intuition is that live video is a precursor to AR at scale which will lead to VR at scale which both can allow the spontaneity of online human interaction.
